A Four-week Course by Path to the Root - Intercultural Exchange 

The rise of the African Diaspora’s move to reconnect to the root provokes the proliferation of vodun priests not only in the Motherland but also in the diaspora. This opens the way to considerable confusions to the seekers who are now looking for the right path to the Root.

This 4-week online course aims at shedding light on the structure of Vodun spirituality by exposing the origin and historical itinerary of the Adja Tado people from Kemet till their establishment in Danxome and the discovery of Vodun which then will be exported to Haiti and other parts of the world.  Welcome into Vodun Spirituality is a program that offers the participants a clear-cut understanding of the ancestral practices in such a way that they know how to safely integrate the culture.

About the instructor:

Born in Ouidah, Benin Republic, Gerard Richard Agbayanou earned a M.A. in English Didactics from the University of Abomey Calavi. He taught English in Benin’s secondary schools for over eight years. In 2015, Agbayanou founded a Saturday school known as le Sens de l’Elite Africaine (SEA) which is a pan African crucible where the youth of the community are taught values that African leaders of tomorrow need to embody. This occurs through exposing the youth to the true history and culture of African societies. As a cultural custodian, fluent in Fongbe, French, and English, Richard teaches French, Fongbe, and Danxome history and culture to Afro-descendants online. He also collaborates with Black American groups, sharing his cultural expertise to promote awareness and heritage preservation.  Moreover, Agbayanou finds immense joy organizing educational and cultural tours, offering enriching experiences at significant historical and cultural sites in Benin. He owns a YouTube channel www.youtube.com/@pathtotheroot9891  where he shares information about Vodun spirituality.
